Why the name Desert Oasis:
The name Desert Oasis comes from wanting to describe New Mexico. The state is classified as a desert, which causes even some local residents to believe the state is barren with large expanses of lifeless sand. Oases are known as a center of water and a place of life within deserts. I want my photos to capture the life that flourishes here in New Mexico. To show how the desert itself is an oasis, a wellspring of life. To me the Desert is an oasis, and hopefully with some viewing, enjoyment, and maybe a flourish of life to decorate a wall New Mexico can be an oasis of beauty, life and joy for you as well.
New Mexico as a state:
New Mexico is a vibrant state filled with wildlife. Diverse geological landscapes means that just a little travel is all that is need to find and explore Mountains, rivers, valleys, forests, and much more. The state of New Mexico is known as The Land of Enchantment. Here a gorgeous sunrise and sunset are almost guaranteed. Hiking, camping, and nature retreats are a great way to immerse yourself into the beauty that flourishes all around the state.
